Can you trust organic cat food?

can you really trust that the organic pet food in stores be truly organic? if so whats a good, possibly cheap, brand to buy? also is it possible to make them fresh meals yourself? like fish, etc. w/ herbs?
I have been reading about pet food lately, and it depends on the brand and ingredients. We just switched to Felidae (by Canidae) bc it seemed to make sense. My cat likes it and he’s very, very fussy – in fact my cat won’t even eat people food. Try reading this and other sites and then make your decision. http://www.canidae.com/ This is pretty interesting too: http://www.api4animals.org/facts.php?p=359&more=1 Also – remember commercial sites exist to promote their own product. You can read about organic topics at: http://www.organicconsumers.org/ Do I want hormones and antibiotics in my food? No. We buy organic most of the time bc it tastes better and has less junk in it.

Where can I find organic cat food?

What are some pet shops in Northern Virginia that sell organic cat foods?

At www.waggintails.com they sell the line Newman's Own which is supposed to be organic. Cans come out to be $1.38 per can ($33 for 24 5.5 oz cans). That not too bad a price for a quality food. You can also price out their dry food there.

They sell it a lot here in CA and it may be made here. It runs around $2.00 a can and if you have to pay high shipping charges that is probably what it would price out to be by ordering online.

I liked "Life's Abundance" and had it shipped from Florida for about two years. So it might be less expensive for you in Georgia. I was on auto-ship for it and it lowered the price considerably. I guess they are making canned food now too, I was using the dry. That's at www.healthypetnet.com. They do not sell in stores.
